Giancarlo Stanton exits Yankees game with right knee contusion

Just when you thought the Yankees got the Lineup of Doom running, the health bug decided to interfere. Giancarlo Stanton left Tuesday night’s game with an apparent injury.

In the first inning against the Blue Jays, Stanton hit a single off Clayton Richard, but then got caught up in an odd 5-3-1 double play. As he dove into third base, Richard spiked Stanton on the hand. He resumed his spot in left field for two innings, but Brett Gardner replaced him in the top of the fourth.
