German, Green candidates for Sunday start

NEW YORK -- The Yankees have not announced their scheduled starter for Sunday's series finale against the Orioles, but right-hander Domingo German is emerging as a strong candidate to make the spot start, which would be his Major League debut.

German, 24, is 2-1 with a 3.76 ERA in four games (three starts) at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, striking out 27 against 22 hits and seven walks in 26 1/3 innings. He started the season at Double-A Trenton, where he went 1-4 with a 3.55 ERA in six starts.

Right-hander Chad Green is another option.
