Gary Sanchez passes key test in recovery from groin injury

Modal Trigger

Gary Sanchez

Yankee Stadium’s playing field was a busy place Friday afternoon with injured players and infielders working out.

Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge continued to work back from injuries that have them on the disabled list. Sanchez threw to bases and Judge played catch with bullpen coach Mike Harkey. Gleyber Torres, Miguel Andujar, Ronald Torreyes and Didi Gregorius fielded ground balls and the pitchers threw in the outfield.

For the first time since being shelved, Sanchez threw to bases out of a crouch in order to test his right groin, which has been injured twice this season and has limited him to 66 games.
