As the sweepstakes heat up, it appears the Yankees are one of the favorites to sign the southpaw.
According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Yankees and the Atlanta Braves are the favorites to sign Keuchel, with both of their offers appearing to be in the same area.
A second source told Feinsand he believes the Yankees are the lone favorites for Keuchel and have a legitimate shot of landing the 31-year-old. Feinsand added Keuchel is willing to shave his beard if he signs with the Yankees.
And FWIW, I have been told that Keuchel IS willing to shave his beard if he signs with the Yankees.
