The baseball world lost, not only a great player, but an all-around great man today. Around noontime, Roy Halladay’s single engine aircraft crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida, he was just 40-years-old. “Doc” retired from baseball in 2013 after a 16-year career that saw him win two Cy Young awards, make eight All Star games, pitch a perfect game and a postseason no hitter.
The baseball community, including current and former Yankees, took to social media to offer condolences, share their memories and tell stories about the late great Doc.
RIP, Doc.
