Cortisone shot pushes back Judge's timeline

NEW YORK -- Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge, on the disabled list with a chip fracture in his right wrist, has undergone a cortisone injection and isn't expected to return by the initial three-week timetable projected by the club, general manager Brian Cashman announced before Wednesday night's game against the Rays.

"We thought maybe three weeks would cover it, but it's going to be longer than that," Cashman told WFAN. "So we missed on the timeframe. We've repeated the MRI just to be certain that there's nothing new or nothing missed. Everything is as expected."

Judge was placed on the DL on July 27 and hasn't yet swung a bat due to continued discomfort in his wrist.
