Chris Young blasts HR, extends streak as Yankees edge Astros

YANKEES 3, ASTROS 2

HOUSTON – Call it the New York version of a Texas two-step.

Houston native Chris Young drilled a three-run home run in the seventh inning, lifting the Yankees to a 3-2 win over the Astros in front of a packed house at Minute Maid Park.

Nathan Eovaldi – who grew up 30 miles away in Alvin, Tx. – earned the win in his first-ever start in his home state, limiting the Astros to two runs over six innings.

Young’s home run gave the Yankees their first runs of the series after the Astros had held them off the board for 16 frames.
