LITTLE FALLS – An explosive four-run fifth inning led the Cuban National Team to defeat the New Jersey Jackals, 9-4, on Tuesday night, the first of their three-game series at Yogi Berra Stadium.

The Cuban National team played the Jackals for the first time in history as the last stop on their 19-game Can-Am tour.

Cuba took the early lead in the first inning off a three-run homer from catcher Yosvani Alacom. The Jackals caught up quickly though, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first.

It wasn't until fifth inning that the Cubans grabbed a dominating lead that won them their seventh-straight contest in the States.
