Chapman gets 30-game suspension from MLB

Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman has been suspended for 30 regular-season games by Major League Baseball under its domestic violence policy and will not appeal the penalty.

Chapman will be permitted to continue to participate in all Spring Training and preseason games and activities prior to the commencement of his suspension, MLB said in releasing its decision.

"I asked my staff to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the incident involving Aroldis Chapman on October 30, 2015," Commissioner Rob Manfred said. "Much of the information regarding the incident has been made public through documents released by law enforcement.
