Based on CC Sabathia’s conversation with Aaron Boone on Thursday, the veteran lefty came through Wednesday’s throwing session without a problem.
“Just talking to him when he came in, said he felt good. You know, so far encouraging,’’ Boone said of Sabathia, who participated in Thursday’s workout and is a candidate to be on the Yankees’ ALCS roster after sitting out the ALDS because of a cranky left shoulder.
According to Boone, the key element to Sabathia being on the ALCS staff is how he recovers from Wednesday’s session. The reason he wasn’t active for the ALDS was because he didn’t bounce back well from a late-season relief outing.
