CC reaches 2,500 K's, then gets ejected

Since making his Major League debut in 2001, Sabathia has recorded at least 123 strikeouts in every season in which he's made at least 10 starts. For the durable veteran, that's been 14 of his 15 seasons.

Sabathia leads all active pitchers in career strikeouts as he continues to climb the all-time chart. Next on the list is Christy Mathewson, with 2,507 career strikeouts.

After inducing an inning-ending double play in the sixth, Sabathia exchanged words with home-plate umpire Dan Bellino and was ejected from the game. Yankees manager Joe Girardi came out to argue as well and was also tossed.
