Babe Ruth's Yankees contract for sale

A historic 1932 Yankees contract signed by Babe Ruth sold at auction for $295,531 on Friday.

The agreement, signed in the midst of the Great Depression, is special because the Bambino took a pay cut while the country was suffering through the economic disaster.

He’d been earning $80,000 per year for the previous two years, according to auctioneer RR Auction, but — with baseball gate receipts down 12 to 15 percent — he agreed to a $5,000 pay cut.
