We all thought it was because of the large workload that day, but unfortunately, there is also an injury to report. The Yankees placed him on the 15-day IL (retroactive to August 31st) with a right groin strain. It’s the same ailment that cost him several weeks of action earlier in the summer.
At this point it’s unclear if Hamilton will be able to make it back before the end of the season. He has a 2.24 ERA, a 1.
