NY Post | Dan Martin: Masahiro Tanaka made his debut on Saturday, pitching into the third inning against the Red Sox. Tanaka was on a pitch count, so he was never going to go deep into the start, but he showed some encouraging results. Among them were an increased average velocity on his fastball, which hovered around 94 mph at times. We haven’t seen that kind of velo from Tanaka since his debut season, so if it sticks around after he gets his command in line, look out.
