It wouldn’t be proper trade rumor season without some degree of conflicting reports. Here are some recent examples:

New York Post | Joel Sherman: At the start of this month, Cleveland and San Francisco were all but guaranteed to sell off some of their top assets, but after a strong month, both teams are suddenly in the playoff hunt. This could mean that the trade market for starting pitchers might be shrinking, making it more difficult for the Yankees to make a splash at the deadline.

YES Network | A.J. Herrmann: While the market may be thinning, the Yankees are also “guaranteed” to trade for a pitcher in the next couple of days.
