Yamamoto, who posted a 1.21 ERA in 164 innings this season with the Orix Buffaloes of the NPB, will begin meeting with interested teams via phone or Zoom next week because he is expected to travel back to Japan, according to sources familiar with the situation. The right-hander will narrow down the list of candidates after the Zoom meetings and then travel back to America for in-person conversations with the finalists.
