Around the Empire: Yankees news - 11/25/20

MLB.com | Mark Bowman: Veteran right-hander Charlie Morton committed his short-term future to the Braves, as he signed a one-year, $15 million contract to pitch in Atlanta. Mark Feinsand was the first to announce the news. The Yankees could have used a talented arm like him to fill the 2021 rotation, but the former Rays’ hurler is switching leagues and joining another top team instead. He was excellent in the 2020 playoffs, but struggled with diminished velocity during the regular season and finished with a 4.74 ERA.

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: While Luke Voit’s name has been thrown around as a trade piece as the Yankees look for pitching upgrades, the idea of getting rid of him just hasn’t gained traction in the front office, according to MLB.
