Around the Empire: Yankees news - 10/29/19

SNY: The Yankees kicked off their offseason with a surprising move on Monday, firing pitching coach Larry Rothschild after nine seasons with the team. The Yankees never won a championship with Rothschild at the helm, but he undoubtedly had some success with the team in his early tenure. As time went on, and the Yankees kept on getting burned by acquisitions (Sonny Gray, Nathan Eovaldi, J.A. Happ), so a change became necessary.

NJ.com | Randy Miller: Now that Rothschild is gone, the Yankees will need to find a new right-hand man for Aaron Boone.
