A look at Yankees in Players' Weekend jerseys (and how they fared in them)

BALTIMORE — The Yankees probably wish that they could keep wearing their Players’ Weekend jerseys for this week’s homestand at Yankee Stadium.

They brought good luck.

After splitting their first 12 games this season with the worst-in-baseball Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees broke out their alternative jerseys and rolled off a four-game sweep that was completed with Sunday night’s 5-3 victory at Oriole Park.

The Yankees are now 6-1 in the first two years on Players’ Weekend, as they were 2-1 at home last August against Seattle donning their special jerseys, which include whatever name they want on back with personalized patches on a sleeve to pay tribute to someone special.
