We're less than two weeks from Valentine's Day, the day that Yankees pitchers and catchers will begin their 2018 spring training workouts down in Tampa.
By then, maybe Yankees GM Brian Cashman will find a way to complete offseason wish list, which still includes adding a pretty good starting pitcher and finding a starting third baseman.
Trades are an option, as is standing pat for the time being.
Another possibility is tapping into that still-slow-moving free agent market, although doing so could force Cashman into dumping salary via trade so that he can obey Hal Steinbrenner’s orders to stay under the $197 luxury-tax threshold.
