Yankees Rumors: Masahiro Tanaka injury update, remains in NY

In this Yankees rumors and news update, injured New York Yankees phenom Masahiro Tanaka's condition looks to be improving after complaining of elbow pain just a few days ago.

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Tanaka is starting to feel the positive effects of a platelet-rich plasma injection on his throwing elbow:

Speaking on ESPN New York's The Michael Kay Show a few days ago (via Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York), general manager Brian Cashman had this to say about Tanaka's progress: "He's improved, but he still feels it, although on a daily basis it decreases. So that's good but it's not good that he's still feeling it at this stage. So it's just day-by-day, week-by-week and we'll adjust accordingly. It's too early to call."

If Girardi's update is any indication, the improvement in Tanaka's condition could be accelerating - perhaps pushing his return date up as the season hits its final two months.
