Yankees News: Alex Rodriguez meets with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, per report

Maligned New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is looking to make amends for the controversy and legal grandstanding that accompanied his season-long PED suspension in 2014.

Per Brendan Kuty of NJ.com, "Alex Rodriguez went good will hunting this week, meeting with new Commissioner Rob Manfred, but without being flanked by MLB Players Association representatives or lawyers, according to a report from the New York Post's Ken Davidoff."

A-Rod reportedly visited MLB's headquarters in Manhattan, looking to "get on the same page" with Manfred and the rest of Major League Baseball as he preps for his return from a 162-game suspension.

Rodriguez, 39, has lost his everyday third baseman job to Chase Headley, and he will likely have to split DH duties with the newly-acquired Garrett Jones. However, Rodriguez has made a point of letting the public know that he's working hard this offseason, including conferring with the likes of Barry Bonds and Edgar Martinez as he looks to get his swing on track for 2015.
