New York Yankees Rumors: College summer team offers A-Rod coaching job

There are plenty of New York Yankees rumors surrounding suspended slugger Alex Rodriguez, but this may be the first in regards to a possible career for A-Rod in managing.

According to CBSSports.com, The Torrington Titans of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League in New England are bypassing a chance to offer the 38-year-old perennial All Star to play for them. Instead, Titans General Manager Joey Abis would like the suspended Alex Rodriguez to serve in a coaching capacity--

"We can offer him $5,000 for the season," said Abis, adding that "the Donut Station has offered him free coffee and donuts for the entire summer." Titans manager Dan McNamara sees A-Rod as "more of a hitting coach" who can show younger players "the way to the big leagues."

As is common knowledge by now, Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the entirety of the 2014 season for his accused role in the Biogenesis scandal. The suspension was reduced from 211 games to 162 games by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz. A-Rod still plans to appeal this ruling in federal court.
