NY Yankees Rumors: Yankees went "all out" in pursuit of Masahiro Tanaka

In the latest NY Yankees rumors surrounding new Yankees acquisition Masahiro Tanaka, the Yankees are said to have done everything humanly possible in order to land the Japanese superstar.

Seeing as Masahiro Tanaka's agent, Casey Close, only made his client available to interested Major League teams in Los Angeles for two days on January 8th and 9th, the New York Yankees' brass had to make a lasting impression, and quickly.

According to the New York Daily News, the NY Yankees sent 8 people to Los Angeles to meet with Tanaka for 2 hours. This group consisted of Yankees' General Manager Brian Cashman, skipper Joe Girardi, and team president Randy Levine, along with members of the Yankees' front office familiar with the Japanese leagues, such as former Japanese manager and Yankees' player development executive Trey Hillman.

In addition to the Yankees' entourage, the Yankees brought a recruiting video which featured former Yankee superstar Hideki Matsui, along with what GM Brian Cashman referred to as "an MTV Cribs-type situation about our ballpark" which allegedly also had a breakdown of how the Yankees' staff thought Masahiro Tanaka's pitch arsenal would fare at the new Yankee Stadium.
