The New York Red Bulls teenage midfielder won his second cap for USMNT on January 28, playing the entirety of a 0-0 draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina in Carson, CA.
Adams’ selection to the USMNT’s January camp and the starting XI for the team’s first game of 2018 was a compliment to his abilities. The fact he played much of the game in an advanced role perhaps not perfectly aligned with his particular strengths: a testament to his versatility, and the fact USMNT is essentially treading water under an interim coach at the moment.
Adams will play more games for USMNT and it is to be hoped he develops into a first-choice starter for the senior men’s national team.
