Patrick Seagrist, who was the New York Red Bulls’ first draft pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, signed his first MLS contract days before the team takes the field to inaugurate their 25th season.
For the Marquette graduate, the last months have been filled with learning experiences, but experienced defenders such as Tim Parker have made themselves present in every step of the way.
“Obviously he came in hungry,” said Parker. “As a draft pick, it’s a nerve-wracking time when you try to make that jump, so it’s exciting to see that he’s kind of taking it by the horns.
