Vancouver head coach Carl Robinson played for the Red Bulls in 2010 and 2011, making 12 appearances over two seasons and scoring one goal.
Current Red Bulls assistant Denis Hamlett served as an assistant with Vancouver in 2011 on the staff on Tom Soehn before joining Jesse Marsch’s staff in Montreal in 2012.
Vancouver’s Giles Barnes and Kemar Lawrence have been playing together on the Jamaican national team since 2015. Both will miss today’s match while with the Reggae Boyz for World Cup Qualification.
Karl Ouimette (currently on loan to Jacksonville) has played alongside numerous Whitecaps on the Canadian national team since 2013.
