In a Sunday morning showdown necessitated by inclement weather in the Maryland area Saturday night, Sky Blue FC (0-16-6, 6 points.) drew the Washington Spirit (2-17-5, 11 points), 1-1, in the third and final meeting of the two teams this year. After a scoreless first half, substitute Arielle Ship gave the home side the lead in the 71st minute, but veteran midfielder Sarah Killion equalized for Sky Blue in the 87th minute.
Sky Blue had the opportunity to get on the board first after National Team Replacement signee Tiffany McCarty, returning to the Spirit after her previous stint with the team in 2013, was whistled for fouling Killion inside the far corner of the box.
