The MLS Disciplinary Committee has long needed to be shut down, but if it is going to persist with its haphazard activities, it might as well issue the occasional ruling that grants the New York Red Bulls a modest favor. DisCo has produced one such favor for RBNY by suspending Seattle Sounders center-back Roman Torres for one game - thereby eliminating the Panama international from the MLS Week 3 clash between Seattle and the Red Bulls.
Incidentally, Torres was punished for a foul on former RBNY player Ambroise Oyongo, so maybe thanks are owed more to Oyongo for luring the center back into a moment of indiscipline rather than DisCo.
