"Robles wears the pants around here" - New York Red Bulls player ratings from 1-0 win @ Vancouver Whitecaps

The absences of Sacha Kljestan and Kemar Lawrence made it a hard fought battle, but the New York Red Bulls got their long-awaited road win and first ever against Vancouver Whitecaps.

Four straight months without a road win had made many New York Red Bulls fans and pundits concerned that even the struggling Vancouver Whitecaps would find a way to keep the full three points from the team. With superstars Sacha Kljestan and Kemar Lawrence absent for international duty those feelings seemed only further justified.

But the Red Bulls persevered and snagged a 1-0 win over the Whitecaps, thanks to Bradley Wright-Phillips, to extend their unbeaten run to 10 in MLS and 12 in all competitions, keeping pace with NYC FC and Toronto FC in the Eastern Conference standings.
