Alex Muyl always has been underappreciated by Red Bulls fans, but not by the team. The Post has learned the hardworking midfielder is set to sign a new contract extension and stay with the Red Bulls long term.
“Alex is a guy that we rely on and we count on him every day,” coach Chris Armas said earlier this season. “He sets a standard of what a pro should look like.”
Muyl, a 23-year-old Manhattanite, is the Red Bulls’ most polarizing player. The team lauds the ground he covers and the work he puts in off the ball in its high press.
