In 1996 this club was originally called the NY/NJ MetroStars and celebrating 20 years.
It was 20 years ago that the Major League Soccer was born and started the rebirth of soccer in this country. The club that was owned by Metromedia created the NY/NJ MetroStars that played in Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands. As the players began to warm up for tonight's match against Orlando City.
Each player wore a MetroStars jersey from the early days to the ones that had a change in the shield in the 2002 season when Bob Bradley came to the club.
