RBNY transfer rumors: Huracan confirm $6.1m transfer of Romero to Red Bulls

If recent reports are true, the Red Bulls could be mere days from announcing the most expensive signing in team history.

On Saturday, Argentina Primera Division side CA Huracan announced on their club website that they had accepted a record-setting bid for winger Alejandro Romero Gamarra. Per the source, the transfer sale will be for $6.125 million, with Huracan retaining 20% of Romero’s future transfer rights.

Romero has spent his entire youth and professional career with Huracan, scoring 9 goals in 94 league matches since 2013. He was a member of Argentina’s Under-20 squad at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, making three appearances in the tournament.
