This season has seen Adam Najem and Akron made it to the semifinals of the College Cup, only falling in penalties to the eventual champions Stanford, while recent signing Brandon Allen has been named a Hermann Trophy finalist for his outstanding play. It has seen Cameron Harr, Derrick Etienne, and Juan Sebastian Sanchez take the college game by storm, and it has seen at least six former college players turn pro and sign homegrown deals with New York.
