Patrick Seagrist traded to Miami for draft pick, allocation money

New York Red Bulls announced a trade with Inter Miami FC for the contract rights to defender Patrick Seagrist, recently put on waivers after having his contract option declined by New York. His now-former club receives the princely sum of one third-round 2021 MLS SuperDraft selection and the potential for $50,000 in General Allocation Money provided “performance-based incentives are met.

A Chicagoland native who played four years at Marquette University, Seagrist was drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
