Adversity has not been a member of the Red Bulls’ roster in quite awhile.
Now, after Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Montreal in the first leg of the Eastern Conference semifinal at Stade Saputo, adversity is a member of the Red Bulls’ starting 11 as they attempt to recover in a save-the-season second-leg match next Sunday at Red Bull Arena.
Sunday’s defeat was as disappointing as it was surprising considering the Red Bulls prominent pedigree as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and the fact that they entered the game having not lost a match since July 3 — going 9-0-7 since.
