New York Red Bulls waive Zach Carroll

The acquisition of Aurelien Collin meant the New York Red Bulls had too many center backs, and a full MLS roster. These matters have been addressed by the club's latest adjustment to its squad: Zach Carroll has been released, per an official team announcement on May 7.

The rookie center back made no competitive appearances for RBNY's MLS team, but had been getting regular early-season minutes with NYRB II in USL.

He was RBNY's second pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft (38th overall).

Carroll's departure clears room in the RBNY MLS squad for future acquisitions, and it also alleviates competition for minutes at the center back position for NYRB II.
