HARRISON, N.J. (June 7, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls traded midfielder Lloyd Sam to D.C. United in exchange for General Allocation Money and will retain a percentage of any future transfer fee if the player is transferred outside of MLS, the club announced today. The 31-year-old Sam was part of a Red Bulls’ side that won two Supporters’ Shields since joining the organization in 2012.
“Lloyd has been a key member of our family and we thank him for all of his contributions to our club, both on and off the field,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Ali Curtis.
