Boateng was a two-time Big West Defensive Player of the Year at UC Davis
CHICAGO (January 11, 2019) – Following a trade with FC Cincinnati to move up to the 16th overall pick, the New York Red Bulls selected UC Davis defender Roy Boateng in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft on Friday. The Red Bulls traded 100K in General Allocation Money for FC Cincinnati’s No. 16 and 25 (first pick in the second round).
Boateng, a four-year letterman at UC Davis, started 81 of the 84 possible matches for the Aggies in four seasons.
