The New York Red Bulls started off strong in Montreal. RBNY have struggled recently not only in away results, but with first half starts. The team saw an early goal scoring opportunity from Bradley Wright-Phillips in the fifth minute. From the right side of the six-yard box, BWP had a point-blank shot which was matched by Montreal’s goalkeeper, Evan Bush.
Later in the half, Montreal found the back of the net. Fortunately, for the New York Red Bulls, the shot was deflected off of a player in an offsides position. After a quick consult with his assistant official, Mark Geiger called the goal back.
