New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga has been nominated for U.S. Soccer's Young Male Player of the Year award, it was announced Friday.
Along with Miazga, Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers and midfielders Emerson Hyndman of Fulham, Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund and Gedion Zelalem of Arsenal (currently on loan with Scotland's Rangers FC) were also named as nominees. The nomination is the second for both Hyndman and Pulisic, who were also nominated for the award in 2014.
U.S. Soccer also announced Friday the nominees for U.S. Soccer Young Female and Disabled Player of the Year.
Young Female Player of the Year nominees are midfielders Savannah DeMelo, Samantha Mewis and Brianna Pinto and forwards Mallory Pugh and Ashley Sanchez.
