In Week 8 of PDL 2017, the New York Red Bulls U-23s registered back-to-back wins: beating Lehigh Valley United, 3-1, at the Red Bull Training Facility and then walloping Evergreen FC, 10-1, at Evergreen Sportsplex.
The games also saw the first appearances for RBNY U-23s this season by Red Bulls Academy product and US youth international Marcello Borges. Against Evergreen, Borges scored his first goal of PDL 2017, and was also credited with two assists.
For his performances in both games, Borges was selected to PDL 2017's official Team of Week 8.
