Cameroon is in one of the tougher World Cup qualifying groups imaginable: CAF sent five teams to the last World Cup, and three of them - Algeria, Nigeria, and the Indomitable Lions - are in Group B of the final round of qualifying for Russia 2018. Only one will advance.
The presumptive makeweight in Group B is Zambia, which has never been to a World Cup. But the Chipolopolo did win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations - so there really isn't a true pushover in the group.
Still, if Cameroon is to make it to Russia it is assumed it will need to pick up maximum points against Zambia and hope for the best against the more testing opponents in the group.
