How Bradley Wright-Phillips exemplifies Red Bulls’ ‘remarkable’ 180

Seven games into the season, the Red Bulls were 1-6 with their season on the brink just months after they proudly had hoisted the Supporters’ Shield.

Seven games later, they are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference after a dominant 3-0 win over Toronto on Saturday night in Harrison, N.J. The Red Bulls are 5-1-1 since the 1-6 start and have outscored their past three opponents 11-0.

When first place was mentioned to Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch, he shook his head.

“Remarkable … remarkable given how rough the start to our season was,’’ he said.
