The New York Red Bulls liked what they saw in Argentine forward Gonzalo Veron. They were in the market for a fast, versatile player in 2015 and acquired the 27-year-old a year removed from a Copa Libertadores championship with San Lorenzo of Argentina.

The Red Bulls paid over $2 million in the transfer fee that landed Veron. Gonzalo was used as a super-sub throughout 2015 where his talents supported the New York Red Bulls drive to the Supporter’s Shield.

It’s those qualities that Head Coach Jesse Marsch says will keep him around though he was injured for much of the early part of 2016.
