GOLD CUP: Lawrence and Jamaica tie El Salvador, clinch quarterfinal berth

New York Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence started and played the full 90 minutes for Jamaica in a draw against El Salvador, 1-1.

Lawrence took five corner kicks in the match.

The tie clinched a top-two finish in Group C for Jamaica, who will advance to the Gold Cup Quarterfinals.

El Salvador jumped out to an early lead in the 15th minute when Nelson Bonilla scored, sliding his shot just inside the far post.

Jamaica was awarded a penalty kick in the 63rd minute as a result of a handball in the box, and Darren Mattocks stepped up to convert the PK and tie the match.
