After a goal and two assists last Friday, Sacha Kljestan earned a spot in the Starting XI for the U.S. Men’s National Team on Wednesday night against Trinidad & Tobago. With a win, the U.S. wrapped up the top spot in their group for the hexagonal phase of World Cup Qualifying.
Kljestan scored the first goal, the eventual game-winner, and was instrumental in the third and fourth goals before being subbed off in the 75th minute. Kljestan opened the scoring just before half time, causing a turnover in the Trinidad & Tobago penalty area and putting home the loose ball.
