It is hard to win on the road in CONCACAF Champions League. It is hard to win any game, anywhere, from two goals down. Credit FC Dallas for enlivening the last day of the 2016-17 CCL group stage with a fightback on a rainy night in Guatemala, turning a 2-0 deficit into a 5-2 win.
After 22 minutes, the MLS side looked to be heading out of CCL, as it dropped into a two-goal hole on the road. FCD had plenty of incentive to give up at that point: there is a Supporters' Shield to be won this weekend in MLS, and the 2016 US Open Cup champion is already assured a place in next season's CCL.
