The Red Bulls will acquire defender Aurélien Collin from Orlando City SC, The Post has learned.
For the struggling Red Bulls, beset by injuries at centerback, it’s a low-risk, high-reward move.
Collin, 30, made $500,000 in base salary last year, and a source within the league told The Post that Orlando City SC “will assume a decent chunk of Collin’s salary.” He was acquired at the modest cost of a conditional fourth-round draft pick.
The Red Bulls, off to a 2-6 start after winning last year’s Supporters’ Shield, have coughed up an MLS-worst 17 goals. They’re hoping the 30-year-old Collin can help fix that.
