Dax McCarty out for four to six weeks

In the 42nd minute of the New York Red Bulls' latest disappointing away-day, captain Dax McCarty limped off the field. RBNY got out of Chicago with a point, and head coach Jesse Marsch put a brave face on the club's concerns about the captain's health.

FourFourTwo's Paul Tenorio reported the first whispers about McCarty's status:

NYRB captain Dax McCarty out 4-6 weeks with tibia fracture, per source. No surgery. Could've been worse, but tough for NYRB.

And that drew an astonishingly quick confirmation from none other than the captain himself:

That would suggest RBNY won't have its captain back until the middle of September.
